The Event:  The 6th Annual Spring Is In 125 along with the Thunderstorm support race. 

 

The Venue:  The 18 turn, Bowman Grand Champion 4-Lane Road Course located at the Slot Car Club Of The Twin Tiers, Grand Central Ave., Horseheads, NY.

 

The Cars:  Vintage Aurora Thunderjet HO-Scale Slot Cars running to SCCOTTT Super Stock, (Fray style,) rules; and Thunderstorms.  Call or e-mail for complete rules. 

 

The Time:  Saturday, April 28, 2006.  Practice opens at 10 am, pre-race tech begins at 1:00, racing at 1:30.

 

Entry Fee:  $10.00 entry fee, $5.00 for club members; free to spectate.  

          

The Prizes:  Half of all entry fees will be distributed among the top four finishers in the Spring Is In 125 final.  

 

Event History: Ryan Hendrickson won the 2006 Spring Is In 250 T-Jet race in dominating fashion over Dave Van Duzer, Kevin Hendrickson and Gary Weber.  Other past winners of the event include Frank Spena Jr., (2002,) Mark Burdick, (2003,) and Dave Hendrickson, (2004 and 2005.)

RACE PREVIEW

 

        The March Madness 125 feature race will be for SCCOTTT Super Stock T-Jets.  Kevin Hendrickson enters the race as the favorite.  He finally pulled off his maiden win with a fine performance in the March Madness 125 after coming up just short in the two previous Majors.  Gary Weber took 2nd at the March Madness and looks set to be Hendrickson's closest rival once again.  Ryan Hendrickson has been struggling for car speed of late, but he put in the drive of the day in taking pole at the March Madness to prove that he must be accounted for.  Potential dark horses include Dave Van Duzer and Mark Webster.

 

        The Thunderstorm support race was such a success at March Madness that it was brought back again by popular demand.  Dave Hendrickson and Dave Van Duzer head into the event as the favorites after finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively the first time around.  George Mest showed great speed in his first T-Storm outing and with a little more practice in hand this time around, he could surprise and take the win.

 

SCCOTTT's Saturday Night HO Racing Series runs every other Saturday evening with races beginning at 5 PM.  Current classes are Super Stock T-Jet and X-Traction.  Call or e-mail for rules.

 

SCCOTTT's Friday Night 1/32 Racing Series runs every Friday evening with races beginning at 7:00 PM.  Current classes are World Sportscar Championship, (WSC,) GT, Non-Magnet Open and 1/24 Le Mans.  Call or e-mail for rules.
